A Look at the Dark Side

Mathis The Manipulator

We Americans do not stand in awe of anyone for very long. We recognize official authority and we respect the positions into which we elect our representatives. These people, like all people, are no more important to God Almighty than a sparrow. But they are placed in positions of responsibility and they will guide public policy on our behalf. That is why we elevate them, trust them and even judge them against a higher expectation of civic duty.

Commissioner Elizabeth “BJ” Mathis has proven time and again that she runs her own agendas. Facts or protocol or integrity be damned. Now she wants to be Chairman of the board of commissioners.

Review some of the situations through links below. A few idioms come to mind, like Nixonian or even Machiavelian. Few county commissioners have matched her penchant for connivance or manipulation. Mathis has proven she is unfit for public service; let’s send her packing with our votes.

I believe that Fred Auletta has the best interests of the Henry County Chamber of Commerce before the citizens of Henry County. Fred voted for the Couumter Rail before he voted against it. He qualified to run as a Republicn without EVER attending a County Republican Party meeting or event, but he is asking for your vote as a Republican without any Republican ideas or support. Let's send Fred packing back to wherever he came from 12 years ago and tell him that Henry County is controlled by the Citizens of Henry County.

I think BJ has done a superb job considering that the good old boys hate her and do everything in their power to discredit her. As Granny used to say, "Compared to what?". Compared to her predecessors and compared to her opponent, she is head and shoulders above the crowd. At least, there is a transparent or visible trail of all of her actions...not in the shadows and off records like so many before her. Like her or not, she's real and she's compassionate, and she does everything on the record! Thank God for sunshine!!! I pray she wins today. Tina Coria
