Judge throws out Stockbridge condemnation
Henry County Superior Court Judge Arch McGarity has dismissed the condemnation of the property owned by Mark and Regina Meeks. Meeks said, "This is a courageous decision by Judge McGarity and we consider this to be a victory for private property rights for Georgians and we want to thank everybody that's supported us."
The City of Stockbridge will decide at their next city council meeting on April 10th whether to appeal the ruling.

CITY OF STOCKBRIDGE resorts to race-baiting cowardice
In a letter to Henry County's legislative delegation, Stockbridge City Attorney Buddy Welch and the City of Stockbridge said that House Bill 1555 was "racially motivated." He is saying this despite the fact that State Rep. Howard Mosby (there is a picture of Mosby at that link) is black. The Henry NAACP chairman Rev. Dan Edwards supports the legislation. He agrees that Stockbridge should have voting districts to insure true representation for all people. The whole race-baiting position of Ted Strickland, Rudy Kelly and the council is absurd. The letter, provided to the Daily Herald by Rep. Steve Davis, because the City refused to share it, charges the reapportionment move is “racially motivated” because none of the proposed districts contain a majority of African American voters.
Rep. Davis provided a clear rebuttal to the "horrible inaccurate accusation."
Jason Pye, chairman of the Henry County Libertarian Party adds his opinion:
"Now they are using race baiting, lies and character assassination because they know the citizens of the State of Georgia and any regular Joe Sixpack with any amount of common sense is against them. " READ MORE
