Repaving Henry County in 2006!

Representative Davis is pleased to announce the list of roads that have been funded in the 2006 amended budget for repaving in Henry County. As we need many widening projects in Henry County and our Growth continues to wear on existing roads Representative Steve Davis, Representative John Lunsford, and Senator John Douglas went to work after the announcement of the Governor for more LARP funding. Both Davis and Douglas serve on their respective Transportation Committees and pushed Henry County projects to the forefront of this fantastic transportation initiative.

"These new projects coupled with the Fast Forward Project for our interstates and state highways, we should see significant road improvements moving in Henry County", said Rep Davis. "I believe we are finally putting Henry County on the map with our extreme needs here in Henry County and with additional influence at the Capitol we are getting our needs addressed", said Senator Douglas. Rep Lunsford concluded by saying, "the leadership at the Capitol has recognized the critical needs of our community by placing the key members of our delegation in influential positions to positively impact our transportation needs and the quality of live in our community."

Earlier this year Governor Sonny Perdue unveiled “Paving the Way Home,” a historic transportation funding initiative under which all 159 counties in Georgia will receive funds for local transportation improvements. Governor Perdue’s budget recommendation includes a record $234 million over two years.

“One of Georgia’s greatest assets is its transportation infrastructure,” said Governor Sonny Perdue. “We’re investing a record amount of funding for local transportation projects, which will positively affect citizens’ quality of life and Georgia’s ability to attract new business to the state.”
